Two arrested on Front Street for pointing an air gun at resident

Gatineau police arrested two young men in Old Aylmer for pointing a gun at an individual on July 17. Police were called to Derwin Street regarding suspects allegedly holding residents at gunpoint and making threats.
When the police arrived on scene they met with the victim and several witnesses. The information provided and the description of the suspects allowed officers scouting the area to locate suspects on Front Street.
The young men, aged 20 and 22 from Gatineau, were arrested and taken to the station where they met with investigators. The canine unit was deployed to search for the weapon without success. Later search warrants were issued allowing police to search the residence. They found an air gun resembling a handgun.
The 20-year-old was released on a promise to appear with conditions while the 22-year-old remained detained waiting to appear before the Court of Quebec.
