Together, let's always be there for ELLES!" The Chambre immobilière de l'Outaouais invests $10,000 in the fight against conjugal and family violence
Sonia Roy
In order to fight domestic violence against women and their children, real estate brokers and members of the Chambre immobilière de l'Outaouais (Outaouais Real Estate Board, also known as the CIO) have raised $10,000 as part of the "Ensembles pour ELLES" campaign. The sale of two Collection Zétak products (a modern tote bag and a corporate clutch) allowed the Chambre immobilière de l'Outaouais to raise its $10,000 goal, which will be distributed among eight women's shelters in the region. These cash rebates will be directly invested in the services offered by the shelters, such as housing assistance for victims, moving costs, transportation costs, clothing and items for children.
The eight women's shelters that will receive funding from the Chambre immobilière de l'Outaouais are Maison Unies-Vers-femmes in Gatineau, Centre Mechtilde in the Hull sector, L'autre chez-soi in the Aylmer sector, Maison Libère-Elles in Chelsea, Maison hébergement Pour Elles des Deux-Vallées in Buckingham, Halte-Femme Haute-Gatineau in Maniwaki, L'EntourElle in Fort-Coulonge, and Maison Ingrid in Cantley.
The generosity of the region's brokers, PME INTER notaires (a network of Quebec notary firms with several locations in the Outaouais) and the public was warmly acknowledged by Roch St-Jacques, real estate broker and president of the Board of Directors of the Chambre immobilière de l'Outaouais.
Does the fight against violence against women and children speak to you? You can help victims of domestic violence by purchasing one of the tote bags designed by Collection Zétak, which are still available on their website. For each item sold, Collection Zétak will donate $10 to the campaign initiated by the Chambre immobilière de l'Outaouais.
