A party was held on Friday, March 31 at the DoubleTree Hilton, Aylmer sector to celebrate Gérard Emond, retired director of the centre alimentaire Aylmer. The affection of his colleagues and the community was obvious, judging by the many testimonies and laughter shared during the evening.
Jacques Boisvert, the new director of the centre opened the evening by sharing several anecdotes that made the crowd laugh. André Fortin, Liberal MP from Québec, made a great gesture, honouring Mr. Emond by presenting him with the medal of the National Assembly.
The Honourable Greg Fergus, Liberal MP, could not attend, but sent a certificate and a recorded message from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, thanking Mr. Emond for his dedication to the local community.
Mr. Emond's work colleagues made him shed a tear by parading with several signs that read, "Together we have done a lot.”
A very nice evening to honour a great figure in our community.
