Public art benches inaugurated in Aylmer Park
Sophie Demers
On June 17, dozens flocked to Parc Micheline-Lemieux (formerly Frank Robinson Park) for the inauguration of a unique migrating public art and bench installation. “Les Becs Bleu” are a collection of 36 rocking benches shaped like blue Canada geese in varying poses. The collection will migrate to different parks in Gatineau, with Aylmer being their first stop. The initiative came from a collaboration between the Association des Commerçants Jacques-Cartier / Gréber (ACJCG), the Association des Gens d'Affaires et Professionnels du Vieux-Gatineau (AGAP-VG) and the Association des Professionnels, Industriels et Commerçants d'Aylmer (APICA). The benches were designed by Castor et Pollux. The illustration was created by Alex Davro.
