Beach canteen has new operator, other works underway

The City of Gatineau has announced a new development at Parc des Cèdres aimed at enhancing accessibility and amenities for visitors. A multi-year agreement has been finalised with Relais Plein Air to manage the canteen operations at the park's cabin, following a successful pilot project initiated last year.

Steven Boivin, the municipal councillor for the Aylmer district, expressed his satisfaction with the project's progression from a pilot to a formal agreement. "This initiative, which began at the start of my mandate, has successfully transitioned into a signed agreement this year," he noted.

In addition to the canteen operations, the city has started construction on a new universal access trail leading to the beach cabin. The project commenced on April 22 and is slated for completion within approximately 45 days. The trail will be constructed with bituminous concrete and will include accessible picnic tables, ensuring all visitors can enjoy the park's facilities.

These enhancements are part of Gatineau's ongoing efforts to improve accessibility and the quality of recreational spaces across the city.
