Old Aylmer: a treat for young and old, visit today!
Lily Ryan
With the Old Aylmer festival coming up, the area is a-buzz. Sailing, Aylmer’s main-stay is healthy and well. The Grande-Rivière sailing club is busy, as is the city rental site next door. Free activities in parc des Cèdres includes volley ball, exercise and the beach with showers and bathrooms open.
Music venues up and down rue Principale have great offerings (see the listing towards the back of this paper), even the occasional concert out on the water, and free music at Park de l’Imaginaire.
The Symmes Inn Museum is always a top destination suggestion, but with the Old Aylmer festival coming up, they are pulling out all the stops with three days of events called “Ode to the Ottawa River”. Watch for the next Aylmer Bulletin edition for more information.
Sundays are the big treat in Old Aylmer, with the public market in Centenial Park. Other events up and down the street are planned, with the festival organized by APICA, the business association. Call them for any information about the festivities. 819 685-1823
