In an effort to foster a supportive and inclusive environment for men to discuss their thoughts, experiences, and concerns, Connexions Resource Centre is hosting a men’s support group called "Man Talk" on October 26 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The event will be held in person at the Connexions Resource Centre located at 67 rue du Couvent, Aylmer.
The support group is designed to provide a confidential and secure space where men of all ages can openly share their views, participate in free activities, and join meaningful conversations. It aims to emphasize the importance of mental health and peer support in fostering community well-being. Attendance is free, offering an accessible opportunity for all interested men to participate.
"Man Talk" will be facilitated by Krish Sundaram, a well-respected Community Health & Wellness Facilitator. Sundaram will be guiding the discussions and activities, ensuring a productive and supportive atmosphere for all attendees.
Connexions Resource Centre encourages participants to help in planning future activities by expressing their needs and interests during the event, ensuring that the support group continues to evolve and cater to the diverse needs of its members.
This initiative by Connexions Resource Centre represents a significant step in promoting men’s mental health and wellness, as it provides a platform for individuals to connect, share experiences, and find support in a safe and welcoming environment. By facilitating such inclusive events, the centre contributes to building stronger and healthier communities in Gatineau.
Though the event is open to all men, spots are limited and prospective attendees are required to complete the RSVP section before 12 p.m. on October 26 to secure their place. Early registration is encouraged to avoid disappointment. For those with inquiries regarding the event, Connexions Resource Centre can be reached at 819-557-0615 or via email at info@centreconnexions.org.
