Man charged with attempted murder after stabbing two people on rue du Centre

On August 19 at approximately 1:15 pm, Gatineau police received a call concerning an injured individual who had been the victim of an assault in a residential unit on rue du Centre in Aylmer.
On the scene, police found two injured men in their 30s. One had minor injuries, while the other had more serious injuries but not life-threatening. Both individuals were transported to the Hull Hospital to receive care.
Investigators and a crime scene technician were on site to analyze the scene. According to Gatineau Police, it appeared that both men had been injured by a sharp weapon during a physical altercation with the suspect.
After investigating, the police were able to locate the suspect in a residence in Aylmer. The suspect, 37-year-old Brian Edward Joseph Izzard from Gatineau, surrendered peacefully. He was then transported to the police station for questioning.
On August 20, Izzard appeared virtually in Quebec court to face charges of attempted murder, aggravated assault, assault with a weapon causing bodily harm, and uttering threats.
