Man arrested in Gatineau for child sexual assault content possession and distribution

A 54-year-old man from Gatineau was arrested on charges of distributing and possessing child sexual assault content, according to the National Center Against Child Exploitation of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). The arrest, made on April 19, involved collaboration with the Gatineau Police.
The operation included the execution of a search warrant at the suspect’s residence, where officers seized multiple pieces of computer equipment for detailed forensic analysis. Facing charges under section 163.1(3) for distribution and section 163.1(4) for possession, as stipulated by the Criminal Code of Canada, the suspect was conditionally released after appearing in court on the same day.
Authorities offered no further response to inquiries regarding additional details, such as the identity of the arrested individual or further comments on the case.
