Lord Aylmer and Eardley Elementary Schools welcome new Principals

In a letter addressed to staff, students, parents, and guardians, significant leadership changes were unveiled that will shape the upcoming academic year in local educational institutions. The Western Quebec School Board has appointed Samantha Halpin as the new principal of Lord Aylmer School, and Julia Horner as new principal at Eardley Elementary School.
Samantha Halpin is a well-known figure within the education community. She brings a wealth of experience to her new role, having previously served as a valued member of the teaching staff at the school. Her educational journey led her to the position of English Language Arts consultant at the school board, further solidifying her expertise in the field. Halpin's leadership portfolio encompasses past principal appointments at Buckingham Elementary, Poltimore Elementary, and Eardley Elementary, showcasing her comprehensive understanding of various school communities.
Halpin's close connection with the Lord Aylmer community, coupled with her extensive experience in leading diverse school environments, positions her to contribute significantly to the growth and development of Lord Aylmer School. Her appointment is met with enthusiasm and optimism, as students, staff, and parents/guardians look forward to her guidance.
Julia Horner is a seasoned educator with an impressive track record. Her long-standing commitment to the education sector spans 18 years at Lord Aylmer School, where she taught multiple grades before transitioning into the role of a resource teacher. Her dedication and exceptional performance earned her the esteemed Outstanding Teacher Award from the Western Quebec School Board. Her educational pursuits were further underscored by the completion of a master's degree in Education at Ottawa University.
Horner's journey to leadership included several tenures as vice-principal through long-term contracts before her official appointment to the position in July 2017. Her tenure as vice-principal was marked by her dynamic involvement in various aspects of school administration. Her vast experience and remarkable achievements position her well for her new role as the principal of Eardley Elementary School.
With the transition now underway, the search for a new vice-principal to fill Horner's previous role is set to begin shortly. Congratulations to both Samantha Halpin and Julia Horner on their well-deserved appointments.
