Les Aliments M&M celebrates 30 years in Aylmer

In 1993, Les Aliments M&M opened in Aylmer. The owners, Bert Le Guerrier and Martine Major, say they are proud to still be here after 30 years, becoming a trusted brand for mealtime and entertaining, special occasions and everyday dinners, serving the community restaurant-quality products to prepare at home.
“Having been raised in Aylmer, we are very thankful for all the support from our community,” said Le Guerrier. “Customer service, quality products, and our employees have always been our top priority. We want to ensure that it’s a great environment for our employees and customers.”
The store, located at 200 rue Principale, was open throughout the pandemic with extensive safety measures to ensure that customers and staff were happy and safe. When shopping at M&M, customers will be met by highly trained staff who can guide them to products they are looking for, inform them on the products, and even share cooking tips or recipes.
There have been many changes throughout the years. In 2016, with new head office ownership, came a full and exciting revamp of the brand. They introduced a brand new, fresh and inviting look to their stores by renovating and creating an open concept shopping environment. They also introduced the Real Food for Real Life promise which means all their products have no artificial colours, flavours, or sweeteners. Les Aliments M&M also has a certified gluten-free section.
Community continues to be one of the business’s core values. Up until the pandemic, Le Guerrier says that, for 20 years, they would have an annual fundraiser for Crohn’s and Colitis Canada. Many Aylmer residents may also remember seeing M&M fundraisers in the Place Lucerne parking lot every Saturday.
“For many years, as soon as the snow melted and the weather was nice, we would fundraise outside for various local associations, or sports teams,” said Le Guerrier, adding that the business still does BBQ fundraisers for schools in the area.
M&M Food Market franchise was established in Kitchener, Ontario in 1980 with the goal to offer restaurant quality food at a great value.
