Knitting exhibit at l’Initial Residence helps community

Lise Lotie is the head of the knitting club at l'Initial and the organizer of a collective exhibit, October 5 and 6. Comprised of some 30 members, this year the club has produced nearly three thousand items including assorted cold-weather wear, dolls, blankets, play mats, and more.
Though numerous prospective customers are attracted to the vibrant exhibit, none of the items are for sale. Rather, every mitten, sock, and sweater is to be donated to the Gatineau Social Pediatrics Centers located at 321 Rue Notre Dame, and 39 Rue Frontenac.
The efforts of the club's weekly Wednesday congregations are complimented by the helping hands of friends and family, and notably, donations of materials, which are always welcome.
Though in the beginning the club focused on catering to younger children, this year's 5th annual donation includes a range of creations and comforts sized and suitable for the youths of all ages that are served by the Gatineau Social Pediatrics Centers as well as their families.
