The Gatineau Terry Fox Run is gearing up for an impactful event this Sunday, September 17, as the community unites in the battle against cancer. With just days to go, the anticipation is palpable as Gatineau residents prepare to participate in this annual event, dedicated to raising funds for cancer research. As the big day approaches, the campaign has already made strides, with over $10,000 raised towards the $13,000 goal.
Registration begins at 9:00 am, and the run officially starts at 10 am at Aylmer Marina. This inclusive event offers various distances, from 1 km to 10 km, accommodating runners, walkers, cyclists, inline skaters, and those using wheelchairs. Participants will embark on a scenic journey along the Ottawa River, tracing the Deschenes Rapids before looping back. The 10 km route is clearly marked, featuring water stations and restrooms for everyone's convenience. The event encourages social sharing with hashtags #TerryFoxRun and #DearTerry, allowing participants to connect and share their motivations.
The Gatineau Terry Fox Run is a testament to Terry Fox's enduring legacy, inspiring unity in the fight against cancer. Donations can still be made online at the official Gatineau Terry Fox Run website: https://run.terryfox.ca/29236
