Jo-Annie Fu, a local bodybuilder who trains at Florida Fitness in Aylmer returned from the 2024 Miami Grand Prix with a fourth place medal. The International Fitness and Bodybuilding Federation hosted the Miami Grand Prix’s fifth
edition at the Hyatt Regency last weekend. Team Canada was represented by two Gatineau bodybuilders, Lanyck Rouleau and Jo-Annie Fu, who qualified in late May following their performance at the André Maillé Classic Championships in Ottawa.
The international competition held from August 16 to 18 was a first for the two bodybuilders. The experience gave each athlete an opportunity to be noticed on a bigger stage while getting one step closer to obtaining their Pro Cards.
Jo-Annie Fu came in fourth place in the Women’s Bikini category, bringing a medal home to her home club in Aylmer, the Florida Fitness. This win is just one out of an impressive season for Fu who took second place in both Bikini Novice and Bikini Open. She is now qualified to compete at CPA Pro Qualifier Shows.
