The Knights of Columbus, Council 5281 of Aylmer, in association with Provigo Le Marché Julie Goulet launched their fundraising campaign for the benefit of six community organizations in Aylmer, at the Provigo Le Marché, on Thursday, November 30.
This campaign, which only targets the Aylmer territory, is necessary due to the increase in the cost of living in recent years.
The following organizations were chosen to receive funding: the Maison l'Autre chez soi, which provides a safe and confidential living environment for women victims of domestic violence and their children, and the Entre nous community center, which aims to create bonds of solidarity and to promote the feeling of belonging. It should be noted that the later organization opened its doors to offer childcare to parents in need during public sector strikes.
Two organizations that work directly with young people will also be able to benefit from the money allocated to them: The St-Paul Scouts of Aylmer troop and the Aylmer Baseball Association. In addition, the last two beneficiaries are the Aylmer Rotary Club and the Aylmer Knights of Columbus Charitable Fund.
Tickets for a 50-50 draw of up to $25,000 are on sale for $5 each at the Provigo Le Marché Julie Goulet, at the Knights of Columbus premises and at participating organizations. The draw will take place on January 11 at Provigo Le Marché at 3 p.m. In addition, Julie Goulet, owner of Provigo Le Marché, offers profits from the sale of bags of bread specially identified with the Provigo and Knights of Columbus logos.
