Fêtes des rois : Aylmer celebrates with dancing at Aydelu

More than 200 people celebrated la Fête des Rois (Epiphany) organized by the cultural organization Impératif Français, at the Aydelu center on January 13.

At the start of the evening, at 8 pm, the president of Impératif Français, Jean-Paul Perreault, welcomed the evening’s participants.

The evening of dances was hosted by the well-known caller Érick Tarte and by the traditional musical ensemble Le Grand Portage. A large floor has been set up to allow guests to dance for four sets of approximately 45 minutes each.

It was around 10 p.m., after the 2nd set of the evening, that the guests were able to rest a little while enjoying vegetables, baguettes and creton. The guests were then invited onto the dance floor for a third set before being served the Galette des Rois to find out who will be the new king and queen. This year, Ian Raymond and Mireille St-Pierre received the honors. After the coronation, the dancing resumed for a fourth and final set of the evening.
