Eardley Elementary collects bottle caps for Aylmer Legion

Eardley Elementary collected thousands of bottle caps to give back to the Aylmer legion to help support the creation of wheelchairs for veterans wounded in battle. One of the students at Eardley Elementary started collecting them on their own.
When Darcy Sigouin, the project lead, found out what it was for, he started collecting them for the student. After more students found out about it, they began collecting for the cause and distributing them to Sigouin. “It got out of hand, and it turned out to be a lot of them… the goal was for kids to be happy and give them something to do,” Sigouin said.
Former Aylmer legion member Andre Boivine volunteered to pick up all the bottle caps after hearing about the initiative and is bringing them back to the Aylmer Legion. Boivine mentioned it feels good to see the kids up to the bottle cap initiative,” it instills some responsibility in the kids.” Boivine said.
