An exceptional season, a historic moment for the club, and a medal to cap it all: the U14 girls’ team from the Club de Soccer (CS) Aylmer finished their Interregional Cup run on the podium after a remarkable year.
The CS Aylmer players ended their season on a high note by winning the bronze medal at the Interregional Cup, held in Sherbrooke from October 10 to 12. After an impressive run, their journey came to an end in the semifinals against the Bromont Montagnards in a penalty shootout. Far from letting this heartbreaking loss get them down, the young players showed character by bouncing back in the final match for third place, which they won against CS de la Vallée-de-l’Or.
This medal is a well-deserved reward for a simply perfect regular season. In 16 games, the Aylmer U14 girls’ team posted 16 wins and conceded only one goal, a testament to their solid defense, consistency, and the quality of their work throughout the year.
This season will forever remain a historic moment for CS Aylmer. The U14 girls’ team is the club’s first girls’ team to compete in the Interregional Cup.
For Yann Carreaud, coach of the CS Aylmer U14 girls’ team, this achievement highlights, above all, the team’s collective efforts.
“This bronze medal honours an exceptional group that demonstrated remarkable commitment, determination, and teamwork throughout the season,” he said.
The coach also mentioned the players’ individual and collective growth, their ability to rise to challenges, and the development of a distinct playing style—all while maintaining an excellent attitude.
This third-place finish thus caps off several months of hard work, discipline, and perseverance. For these young athletes, as well as for the club, the bronze medal represents much more than just a medal: it symbolizes a historic and promising season for girls’ soccer at CS Aylmer.
