Message to Residents about mandate so far:

“Many projects were carried out in 2022 with the aim of always promoting our beautiful neighbourhood. I would like to take this opportunity to review the highlights of the past year. At the city level, the gradual integration of gender-based analysis (GBA+) into the city’s policies and programs is a step forward that I am very proud of. At the local level, many improvement projects have been successfully completed,” said Bélizaire highlighting the safety improvements made to Pink Road, the speed reduction measures added to Chemin de la Montagne, as well as the bulky-waste-on-request collection project. “Another significant accomplishment we achieved this year, together with vigilant citizens, was stopping deforestation work at the intersection of Des Grives/Allumettières and on the Chemin de la Montagne.”

Message to Residents about plans for 2023:

“The year 2022 ends for me on the theme of collaboration with you, citizens of the Plateau district,” said Bélizaire. “For the coming year, I wish to continue in this direction and get more involved to better understand your needs and concerns. This collaborative approach will guide my future decision-making, particularly in infrastructure. I will hire an external consultant to organize citizen workshops. The goal is to engage you in a discussion about your infrastructure needs, social, recreational and community. In the West, and particularly in the Plateau, the needs are pressing. I will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that the city is able to better align district development with municipal infrastructure.”

Bélizaire stated that the population growth in the West and the Plateau was putting pressure on the transport infrastructure. The councillor said structuring solutions in terms of the tramway project are needed; otherwise, the mobility issues will continue for residents in the West of the city.

“As Vice-President of the Société de Transport de l'Outaouais (STO), I will use every opportunity available to defend this project and help it move forward as quickly as possible,” said the Plateau councillor, adding that residents can count on her to prioritize the safety of pedestrians and cyclists as the study phase of the Pink Road widening project between Des Grives and Vanier begins. Bélizaire also made a commitment to keep residents informed as the project progresses.
