Charges laid in armed assault at the Galeries Aylmer

A male minor has been arrested in connection with the armed assault that took place at Galeries Aylmer on the morning of November 21, 2025. Gatineau police were called to the scene near one of the mall’s entrances, where they found a victim with serious injuries to the lower body. Officers provided first aid until paramedics arrived and transported the individual to hospital.

Three people were initially brought in for questioning. Police have since confirmed that one of them is now facing charges. As he is underage, no further identifying information has been released. He has been charged with assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. His next court appearance is scheduled for February 16.

Police say there is currently no additional information to release. The investigation remains ongoing.
