BioBlitz hosted by Boucher Forest delivers on a stellar Saturday

Boucher Forest hosted its annual BioBlitz, which allowed residents to learn about forestry and take tours led by its partners.
The event took place on Saturday, June 20. It featured various kiosks along the Samuel Eddy entrance to the forest, including Enviro Éduc Action, SEBO, les Collectivités ZéN de l’Outaouais, and many more, which hosted demonstrations, small games, and presentations for the residents in attendance.
Participants were greeted with walking tours around the Boucher forest, hosted by various partners throughout the day, each with a different activity and goal: a bird tour hosted by Maurice Thibaudeau, a mushroom tour hosted by Mycologues amateurs de l’Outaouais, a geology tour hosted by SEBO, and others, allowing residents to learn about forestry and the outdoors.
Caroline Poulin, the Director of Operations, Conservation, Development and Maintenance, told the Bulletin that this event is meant to foster a sense of belonging and sensibility among the various species at the Boucher Forest.
The BioBlitz event allowed residents to learn about the different life the Boucher Forest held and to track what was found using an app called "iNaturalist".
