The Aylmer Community Theatre (ACT) Company is currently in rehearsal and preparation mode for their upcoming show, Norm Foster’s Here on The Flight Path. The organization is excited to bring Foster's play to the local stage.
Foster is a popular Canadian Playwright, and has been the most produced playwright in Canada for the past 20 years.
Here on The Flight Path follows John for the course of three and a half years as he interacts with neighbours from this balcony. Specifically, the play chronicles the relationship he fosters with three women in this apartment building, Fay, Angel, and Gwen.
The play has been described as a romantic comedy that will surely make audiences fall in love with characters and have a laugh.
“With ACT company, people get quality shows. Even though we are a small company, our actors and crew put their hearts and souls into each and every performance,” said Peggy Henderson, a founding member of ACT Company.
The cast consists of four actors, Jenny Pound, Troy Page, Denise Paquette, and Karine Duffy. The play is being produced by Anne Little, directed by Troy Page, and Teresa Bandrowska is the assistant director.
“There is a lot to be said about the community when you have a theater group right in your neighbourhood. I really urge our Aylmer community to support local theater,” said Henderson. “The cast and crew are your neighbours, and your kids' friends' parents!”
There will be three opportunities for local theater lovers, and first-time play-watchers to see a performance. The first will take place on October 26 at 7:00 pm, followed by the second show on October 27 at 7:00 pm and the Matinee on October 28 at 1:00 pm. All performances will be at the Heritage College Theater located at 325 boul. de la Cité-des-Jeunes.
Tickets can be purchased online at www.actcompany.ca for $20 each. There will also be a limited number of tickets available at the door, to be purchased with cash only.
ACT Company is a beloved community organization that was founded in 2006 by Rick and Peggy Henderson, with a few other like-minded individuals.
