Aylmer community rallies to support feline shelter in response to classified ad

The Aylmer community has once again demonstrated its compassion and generosity in response to a classified ad that has been published every week in the Aylmer Bulletin since the beginning of July. The ad appealed for donations of cat and kitten food to support a local home-based shelter operated by a dedicated reader of the paper.
The classified ad, which implored, "Cat and Kitten Food Donations needed," garnered an overwhelming response from individuals eager to make a positive impact on the lives of the feline inhabitants under the shelter's care. Donors were encouraged to drop off their contributions at the Aylmer Bulletin office, conveniently located within Galeries Aylmer, during regular business hours from Monday to Friday (9:00 a.m.─5:00 p.m.).
The Aylmer community wholeheartedly embraced the opportunity to give back, resulting in an outpouring of support. In a statement of gratitude, the Aylmer Bulletin expressed its appreciation for the compassion shown by the community. The collective efforts of Aylmer residents have exemplified the spirit of kindness that binds the community together.
Two dedicated individuals, who have assumed the role of ad hoc kitten rescuers, are currently providing nurturing care for mother cats and their kittens. The recent infusion of monetary donations has further elevated their efforts, with one of the rescuers expressing heartfelt gratitude for the financial support. She said, "This is so helpful! I'll put the money toward spaying and neutering these cats if they don't find forever homes before it is time."
The Aylmer Bulletin office has been at the forefront of this heartwarming initiative. The office doors remain open on weekdays, offering a central location for donors to drop off contributions. Additionally, recognizing the convenience of a 24/7 approach, a collection box has been placed outside the office, enabling well-wishers to make donations at any time.
