Autumn colours in Old Aylmer
Lily Ryan
As the Old Aylmer Sunday Market enjoys the last market days of 2025, Aylmer shoppers came out in droves, September 28. With Friday and Saturday’s Oktoberfest fun on rue Principale, the enjoyable vibes just continued through Aylmer to the end of Sunday. “Yes, we have great sales on now,” Nesbitt’s co-owner, Sylvia Nesbitt told the Bulletin, “But people love stopping in to pick up fall colours for home, or to get the fall gardening underway.”
With the love of fresh veggies and artisan goods, market sellers set up outside Bakery Deux Frêres as visitors enjoyed their new patio set up. At the Indian restaurant down Principale, the new patio set up was a favourite afternoon snack location near the river. The new taco and ice cream shop on Front Street has had rave reviews, located just across from Auberge Symmes Inn Museum. And from this yummy new eatery, the news is clear: Restaurant Gin & Chips is up for sale. The building has a sign on the patio, one of Aylmer’s treats, with seating right by the water fountain in Park de l’imaginaire.
