Another Eardley property development: trees cleared for four-storey apartment building

One more property on chemin Eardley seems to have piqued the interest of another developer. A large section of the property located at 152 chemin Eardley has been cleared of trees. The site is located 350 meters from 184 Eardley, a site that will be developed into apartment complexes. This location is the doorway to the Pontiac and one of the first areas commuters coming from the Pontiac see in Aylmer.
According to Gatineau, the plan for the 152 chemin Eardley site is the construction of a four-storey, 60-unit building. JPL construction received the certificate authorizing the removal of trees as well as the permit to build from the city in May of this year.
Gatineau says the project did not require authorization from the municipal council as it respects zoning, requires no special permits, and developers did not ask for any exemptions for zoning or to be approved by the council.
Gatineau states that there is a riparian protection strip in place, which is a buffer of vegetation near water, indicating that there is some type of water present on the site. No details were given on whether it is a small creek or pond. The developers also plan to preserve a section of the woodland on the east side of the property.
The developers were contacted for comment but did not respond at press time.
