$70.4 Million investment in Outaouais road projects

In a significant development for Quebec's Outaouais region, Canada's Transport Minister and Quebec Lieutenant, Pablo Rodriguez, together with Quebec's Deputy Premier and Minister of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, Geneviève Guilbault, and other notable political figures, announced a substantial investment of $70.4 million. This joint funding, split equally between the Canadian and Quebec governments, is earmarked for crucial road projects in the area, including the expansion of Pink Road and La Vérendrye Boulevard.
Rodriguez highlighted the partnership between the federal government, Quebec, Gatineau, and the Outaouais region, emphasizing the investment's role in easing traffic and improving accessibility. Guilbault emphasized the investment's impact on traffic flow, safety, and regional economic development. Mathieu Lacombe, Minister of Culture and Communications and Minister Responsible for the Outaouais region, pointed to the government's commitment to transportation projects in the region, noting the significance of this investment along with ongoing projects like the Guy Lafleur highway expansion.
Steven MacKinnon, Member of Parliament for Gatineau, and Sophie Chatel, Member of Parliament for Pontiac, expressed pride in the governments' support for these initiatives, highlighting their potential to alleviate congestion and enhance daily life quality.
Mathieu Lévesque, Member of the National Assembly for Chapleau and Deputy Government House Leader, affirmed the commitment made during the election to advance these projects, underscoring their benefits for traffic flow and regional economic development. Suzanne Tremblay, Member of the National Assembly for Hull, and France Bélisle, Mayor of Gatineau, also lauded the investment, emphasizing its significance for the region's development and the enhancement of its transportation infrastructure.
This funding, part of the Agreement between the Government of Quebec and the National Capital Commission on Highway Improvements in the Quebec Area of the National Capital Region, aims to significantly improve traffic conditions in Gatineau and contribute to the area's ongoing growth and development.
